QinetiQ North America’s Talon ground robot has been selected by the Czech Republic and Poland for explosive ordnance disposal missions, for a total of $8.4 million in contracts.

“Talon robots are world-class lifesavers that distance warfighters from the dangers they face,” says J.D. Crouch, technology solutions group president for QinetiQ N.A. “The average Talon robot is blown up 13 times in its lifetime, repaired and returned to action. With more than 3,000 of these life-saving robots in theater today, Talon continues to be the robot of choice for EOD missions both domestically and internationally.”

The order, facilitated by the U.S. Navy, includes $6.8 million from Poland, versus $1.6 million from the Czech Republic.
