Indian-Based Infosys Invests in UAS Company
A consulting, information technology and outsourcing services company named Infosys has invested in ideaForge, a startup that focuses on UAS development.
Both companies are based in India.
“We are looking forward to working with ideaForge and bringing their technology, expertise, and solutions to our clients to unlock new business insights from operational data that has previously been difficult to obtain.,” said Infosys’ Executive Vice President & Global Head of Corporate Development & Ventures Ritika Suri.
“ideaForge’s high performance UAVs, which have been designed and built in India, have significant potential in industrial use cases.”
ideaForge’s UAS can fly fully autonomously, and they also feature image intelligence with live feed, as well as the ability to support different payloads such as thermal and high-resolution imagery.
“We are very excited to have Infosys as an investor and a partner for exploring UAV services and solutions for global customers,” said Ankit Mehta, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at ideaForge.
“This partnership will play an important role in our industrial expansion to address a wide variety of data acquisition and analysis needs.”
The Indian Armed Forces have used ideaForge's UAS for missions including surveillance, crowd monitoring and rescue operations. Members of the energy, utilities and telecom industries might also find ideaForge’s UAS useful as well.
