CAN Group Unveils CANdrone UAS
The CAN Group has introduced its new custom-built UAS called the CANdrone system. The UAS, which has been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority, has several unique features including rapid visualization and 4K data capturing, recording and playback.
The CANdrone will be used for on and offshore inspections. Some of the specific tasks that the CANdrone system will be enlisted to carry out are live plant screening in difficult environments, as well as providing visual inspections and structural assessments.
“The development of CANdrone for our inspection engineering team is very exciting and is part of our ongoing investment in the integrated inspection service that we provide to our clients,” said CAN Group director Adam Byrne. “This bespoke UAV system brings with it the opportunity to cut operational costs, as the use of drones for inspection can decrease asset downtime and reduces risk when carrying out inspections in hazardous environments.”
