• Researchers at the University of Tokyo used a silk moth to steer a two-wheeled vehicle so the researchers could determine how robots could optimally navigate hazardous chemical spills. (MIT Technology Review)

• Colorado has shelved its bill that would have allowed driverless cars on the state’s highways. The bill’s sponsor, state Sen. Greg Brophy, partially linked the tabling to “reservations” from Google. (The Denver Post) 

• Brazil’s Avribras has teamed with Harpia Systems’ joint unmanned systems venture with Embraer and Elbit Systems. The move will allow the company to take advantage of Brazilian tax incentives for defense companies. (Flightglobal)
