Autopilot hardware redundancy: essential for critical missions
Hardware redundancy in autopilots is an architecture that enhances the reliability and robustness of control systems in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The design of a system with hardware redundancy ensures that the system will not have a single point of failure, and thus, ensures mission continuity. One of the key advantages of hardware redundancy in critical control systems is the ability to continue the mission under the same conditions, making it suitable for both fail-safe and fail-operational missions.

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – With the low rumble of Air Force fighter engines echoing in the distance, four and then eight motorized propellers of two unmanned aerial systems buzzed to life in an open field of the Eglin Test and Training Range Oct. 8.
The two UAS in flight, one an Air Force-owned TRV-150 and the other, Near Earth Autonomy’s Griff 135, marked the first time the two aircraft flew together for a test mission.
US Army Selects Near Earth Autonomy & LIFT for Life Saving Autonomous Blood and CASEVAC Transportation System
Austin, TX // October 1, 2024 / LIFT Aircraft (LIFT) announced today that they have been awarded a contract by the US Army Applications Laboratory (AAL) to design a medical multi-mission modular payload, a container that can carry blood supply and casualty evacuations (CASEVAC).
LIFT has partnered with Near Earth Autonomy (Near Earth) to address one of the Army’s biggest challenges - the need to autonomously perform these functions within the crucial "golden hour," the critical period immediately following trauma when rapid medical intervention significantly increases survival rates.

ISARRA is a member-based, non-profit society for all scientist doing atmospheric and earth science research and the next meeting will be hosted by the Oklahoma Aerospace Institute for Research and Education (OAIRE) at Oklahoma State University. The event will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma and will include both a Conference and a Flight Week portion. Supported in part by WINDMAP through the NASA ULI program and the LaunchPad Center through the EDA BBBRC.
Properties of the Veronte Motor Controller MC110 2.0
In the eVTOL or air taxi sector, there is a trend toward using increasingly higher battery voltages, which reduces the current in the line, thereby improving system performance and reducing wiring weight. However, controlling motors at high voltages requires a reliable and specially designed system for this purpose, such as the Veronte Motor Controller MC110 2.0
Examining the Dual Approaches to Autonomous Vehicles
Date/Time: Wednesday, September 25 at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm ET
Webinar Description:
This webinar focuses on the examination of two primary strategies or methodologies being employed in developing and commercializing autonomous vehicles, as well as the challenges these approaches face in the process of being successfully commercialized. The first approach is the so-called vision-based end-to-end learning approach, for example, FSD from Tesla. The other approach uses multiple types of sensors including LiDAR sensors and relies on HD maps from the LiDAR sensors to localize the vehicle, for example, Waymo’s approach. We will compare and examine the two approaches from several angles.
