Freefly Systems’ Alta X Earns Green UAS Certification Amid Growing Demand for Secure, Compliant Drone Platforms
March 31, 2025 – Arlington, VA — The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) announced today that Freefly Systems’ Alta X has officially achieved Green UAS certification, joining a growing roster of vetted, secure drone platforms available for government and enterprise use.
The Alta X’s certification highlights the continued expansion of the Green UAS program and reinforces the urgent need for the federal government to formally adopt Green UAS certified platforms and enable their use across federal agencies.
AUVSI Announces Green UAS Certification for Ascent AeroSystems SPIRIT, AgEagle eBee TAC, and Inspired Flight IF1200A and IF800 Tomcat UAS
The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) today announced that it has granted Green UAS certification to four new uncrewed aerial system (UAS) platforms: Ascent AeroSystems’ Spirit, AgEagle’s eBee TAC, and Inspired Flight’s IF1200A and IF800 Tomcat. The certifications expand the Green approved list to better meet operational needs for public safety, critical infrastructure, and mapping and survey.
The Green UAS certification process included a review of the platforms’ product and device security, including all components and subcomponents, and enrolls them in the program’s continual monitoring of supply chain risk management.

AUVSI Announces Certification of Additional Green UAS Components
This week, AUVSI announced the addition of 4 products to the Green UAS component cleared list. This follows the recent certification of a new UAS platform as Green, which also assessed the platform’s included components: CubePilot Cube Purple and Cube Blue flight controllers, Ardupilot Arducopter software, and Panasonic Toughbook Ground Control Station.

Arlington, Va. — The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) today announced that it has granted Green UAS certification to Hoverfly Technologies’ Spectre Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS). The platform is the first tethered drone to be verified as meeting the highest levels of cybersecurity and the supply chain requirements in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on either AUVSI’s Green UAS list or the Defense Innovation Unit’s (DIU) Blue UAS list.

Exciting news: For the first time since the agreement of a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between AUVSI and the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), the Blue UAS Framework has been expanded with the addition of new components facilitated through the Green UAS data sharing process.
