AUVSI President and CEO Delivers Keynote at Pathfinder Symposium in Alabama
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Brian Wynne, President and CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of unmanned systems and robotics, today delivered a keynote address at the Pathfinder Symposium, held at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The symposium, hosted by the Pathfinder Chapter of AUVSI, brings together industry, state and federal stakeholders to discuss the current state and future of the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry in the United States.
AUVSI has more than 35 local chapters in the United States and around the world that promote the tremendous potential of unmanned systems. The Pathfinder Chapter, which celebrates its 30-year anniversary in 2019, provides a forum for the unmanned systems industry in the Tennessee Valley to network with fellow industry professionals, join community activities and STEM education programs, and participate in activities to support and promote unmanned systems, such as through its Pathfinder Symposium.
“Being here today under the Saturn V rocket that took Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins into space is a reminder of how far we’ve come in aerospace and aviation, and the possibilities that still lay ahead,” said Wynne. “I look forward to the conversations we will have throughout the Pathfinder Symposium, led by an impressive lineup of speakers from the FAA, defense community and unmanned systems industry.”
The 2019 Pathfinder Symposium spans two days, with Aug. 14 dedicated to “Commercial & State” and Aug. 15 to “Defense & Federal Government.” Wynne is among several notable speakers at the event, including Congressmen Robert Aderholt (AL-4) and Mo Brooks (AL-5). Following his keynote, Wynne moderated a panel on “Reviewing the Past and Future” of the unmanned systems industry.
AUVSI and its chapters host events and conferences to provide opportunities for the global unmanned systems community to come together to discuss important issues and the latest developments in the industry. Among those events is AUVSI’s XPONENTIAL, the largest annual trade show for unmanned systems and robotics, with more than 8,000 attendees, 700 exhibitors spanning more than 20 industries and 150 educational sessions. XPONENTIAL 2020 will take place in Boston from May 4-7. AUVSI also partners with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to host the annual FAA UAS Symposium.
