GeoTagZ Processing Software to Enhance UAS Capabilities
On Wednesday, Septentrio announced its latest innovation in the world of photogrammetry, with the release of its GeoTagZ processing software, to assist in photography and surveying efforts with unmanned aircraft systems. The GeoTagZ processing software will work in combination with AsteRxm-UAS hardware, which is a high-precision technology that can tell positioning of photos taken.
Once a photo is taken by a camera on a UAS, GeoTagZ will provide UAS operators with exchangeable image file format data that include exact position of the camera when a photo is taken, the time in which that photo was taken and the type of camera that was used to take that photo. This information will be collected from a nearby base station on the ground, along with the AsteRxm-UAS hardware software that is in the UAS, to provide real-time kinematic precision.
With the combined software of GeoTagZ and AsteRxm-UAS hardware, functional features include the abilities for logging, power supply, and interfacing to camera and PC. This technology will be useful in instances where a location is either too dangerous to access or is not accessible at all on the ground, according to a company press release.
