NuWaves Engineering Welcomes NuPower 06D05A C-band PA for UAS
In early 2017, NuWaves Engineering will welcome its new NuPower 06D05A C-band power amplifier (PA).
The NuPower 06D05A C-band PA, which the company says will boast an impressive size, weight and power (SWaP) profile, is the latest member of NuWaves’ small, lightweight and high-efficiency PA family of products.
Some of the features included with the NuPower 06D05A are the ability to provide a saturated RF power of 20 Watts in C-band (frequency coverage from 4.4 GHz to 4.9 GHz), the capability to supply range extension to UAS used for airborne electronic attacks at low altitudes, and improved heat dissipation characteristics for higher-temperature operation for the power amplifiers aluminum chassis.
“As an add-on to an existing communications system, the NuPowerTM 06D05A offers the systems integrator the ability to achieve greater communication range,” said Jeff Wells, president and CEO of NuWaves Engineering. “Our power amplifiers enable greater standoff distances for UAS and unmanned ground vehicle applications, giving our armed forces the advantage in hostile environments.”
