QinetiQ North America Unveils Integrated Warrior System

By Danielle Lucey

Today, QinetiQ North America introduced its Integrated Warrior System, which will route information to a soldier to a single electronic device, like a smartphone or computer.

The company displayed the new IWS as the Soldier Technology Meeting and Exhibition in Arlington, Va. The system integrates data and power from multiple systems and, through its battery power management system, allows each device to operate in theater. The soldier can plug-and-play devices such as tablets or smartphones through a wearable hub.

“Modernization initiatives have sought to integrate electronics and sensors on the warfighter ensemble without adding extra equipment and weight,” says Technology Solutions Group President J.D. Crouch. “IWS is a sleek, rugged solution that easily integrates commercial and military devices through an open architecture that is designed to support today’s Warfighter.”
