- This week, the Navy welcomed a squadron that includes unmanned aircraft, consisting of eight manned helicopters and a series of Fire Scouts. The exact number is yet to be determined. (Reuters)
- The University of Alabama Huntsville and the Army’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Project Management Office are teaming up to work on creating graduate and undergraduate courses on UAS and other collaborative research. (Avionics Intelligence)
- A robot with an artificial brain, created by the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo, uses its 100,000 neurons to try and play baseball. (Wired)
- A Harper Adams University student is developing an unmanned aircraft that can be used to track livestock. (Vision Systems Design)
- Indonesia recently announced plans to ramp up production of UAS in the coming year for its air force. (Voice of America)
- Researchers are attempting to create robotic skin that mimics a seahorse tail because of the design’s strength. It could be used to protect bomb disposal robots. (Daily Mail)
