Zenmuse Zoom Camera Comes to DJI
On July 14, Chinese tech company DJI announced its new Zenmuse Z3 camera, which is set to be released in a matter of weeks. The camera is the first of its kind for the company, as it will have the ability to zoom in with accuracy to take both still photographs and capture videos from unique distances and perspectives. Currently, the camera is compatible with three different drones.
With the Zenmuse Z3, DJI has incorporated several features that will increase the visibility of the company’s new signature camera. Among the many features of the Zenmuse Z3 are a seven-times zoom, a live feed from the camera through the DJI GO app and the ability to control camera features through the drone’s remote controller. The enhanced visibility will allow for improvement in the fields of inspection and surveying.
“The Zenmuse Z3 pushes the possibilities of use for industrial applications,” says Pan. “Before this camera, the only way to zoom in on a subject or object was to fly closer to it. Now, pilots in a search-and-rescue situation or conducting surveys or inspections can maintain distance and still zoom in for sharp, detailed images.”
Right now, the Zenmuse is compatible with the Inspire 1, Matrice 100 and Matrice 600. With the Inspire 1, the Zenmuse has a flight time of nearly 20 minutes. That time can be extended 30 minutes on the Matrice 100 and up to 39 minutes for the Matrice 600.
The Zenmuse Z3 will start shipping after July 28.
