Transitioning AAM into Reality at AIAA AVIATION Forum

The 2024 AIAA AVIATION Forum will be held 29 July–2 August in Las Vegas, and this year’s event aims to bridge the gap between visionary concepts and tangible technological reality.    Starr Ginn, Advanced Concepts and Partnerships at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center, served on the forum’s Guiding Coalition. AUVSI met with Ms. Ginn to learn more about NASA’s participation at AIAA AVIATION Forum and the Agency’s vision for how Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) will transform aviation’s role in the everyday movement of people and goods.   

Surface Navy Association 2023: Sharpening Our Competitive Edge

Last week, AUVSI’s Advocacy team attended the Surface Navy Association’s 35th Annual National Symposium, where this year’s theme was Sharpening Our Competitive Edge. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro delivered a keynote address on global stability, leadership, and service. 

AUVSI Maritime Advocacy Committee Elects New Leadership

AUVSI’s Maritime Advocacy Committee (MAC) sets the federal legislative and regulatory priorities for the association based on input and feedback from its membership. The committee develops advocacy goals and policy positions to enable all AUVSI members to speak with a unified voice on behalf of the UMS industry.    Last month, the Committee held leadership elections. Larry Ryder, Vice President of Business Development and External Affairs, Austal USA will serve as the new MAC Chair. Jenny Roberts, Vice President - Navy Fleet Requirements & Acquisition Accounts, SAIC will serve as Vice Chair for the next two years.
